Charles Arbid: Conference

Charles Arbid stated that the government has taken steps on the path of reform, restoring stability, and rebuilding trust both domestically and internationally.

He said that the sessions over the past two days were rich in ideas, aspirations, and expressions of goodwill and readiness to work and invest in Lebanon’s future.

Addressing Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at the closing of the “Beirut One” conference, Arbid noted that all speakers—whether on stage or throughout the conference—expressed their expectation of ongoing reform, an independent judiciary, and serious efforts to combat tax evasion and smuggling, while also showing willingness to contribute to Lebanon’s recovery.

He stressed that this recovery is already underway, emphasizing the importance of linking ideas, sentiments, and investment intentions with the reform path that has been launched and is being steadily built through daily steps toward creating a suitable environment for comprehensive national and economic revival.

Arbid added that recovery is a cumulative process shaped by small daily actions as well as bold but realistic decisions. He described the conference as a driver of new momentum that adds energy to the process and encourages action, noting that the discussions over the two days were reassuring and optimistic.

He concluded by thanking all participants, emphasizing that stability is a political, economic, and social effort strengthened by the responsibility exercised by all stakeholders.
